Referral Dogs
The following dogs are available from their owners or custodians. We have not seen them so they have received no veterinary care from Doberman Rescue of North Texas.  We only know what the owners have told us about them. We do not charge an adoption fee for these dogs and we insist the owners do not sell them. They are to be adopted for free unless they are at a rescue or similar agency, in which case there may be an adoption fee.

All representations hereunder are those of the current custodians and not of Doberman Rescue of North Texas.

If you adopt one of these dogs, please let us know so we can take it off the list, and so we can help you with training or information, if you wish.

PLEASE SEE INFO ABOUT SENIOR DOGS WHO ARE AVAILABLE AT BOTTOM OF PAGE!!!!

Azalea
Azalea is a two-year-old lab/shepherd mix.  Ok, not a Doberman, but she spent over 100 days at the Dallas shelter before being pulled by another rescue group, so she really deserves a good home.  She is very affectionate, smart, appears to be housebroken (as she learned the doggy door very quickly). gets along with dogs, and is very grateful to be in a foster home!  She loves to play ball.    Please contact Kristina if you can adopt Azalea ::214-631-1111  or email Kristina at  kbowmanphoto@hotmail.com (Updated 7/22/09 )
Baby

Baby is a 3 year old Doberman/Chocolate Lab mix.  She is a very affectionate dog and has become very close to her adoptive family.  She doesn't like to be left outside...her previous owners left her outside in a muddy tiny backyard.  She loves car rides and trips to the lake.  She dives right into the water with her tail wagging a mile a minute!!!  She also like cats and even more so...cat food!!!    She's also a good barker if anyone approaches the house, but not an annoying barker that barks at anything.  She can be a digger if left unchecked, but with correction she has learned to at least try not to dig!!   She loves walks and walks nicely on a leash.   She is on Proin which has solved her incontinence, but otherwise has no health problems and is on heartworm preventative.  Her owners are trying to place her because she is aggressive to their other dogs.  She needs to be in an only-dog home with lots of people attention.  If you are interested in adopting Baby, please call  Jim or Corey Flanagan at 903-335-2716 or 903-335-0876 (both cell numbers) or email Jim Flanagan [flanagan11@peoplescom.net] (Updated 9/19/09)
Bella
Bella is a 7 year old Fawn female Doberman.  She is better as an only dog, but doesn't have to be, as you can see from her picture. She hates being outside unless people are with her. She is an  inside dog and potty trained. She grew up around kids so no problem  there. Bella is very affectionate when you want to love on her, but if you don't want to be bothered, she will leave you alone. She is fine around people, but when someone she doesn't know comes into the house, she barks and stays away from them until she gets used to them. Her only bad quality is she barks out the window a lot; anyone walking down the street or that she can see will get barked at. If she runs into a person when she is outside she is fine with it though.  Her family needs to place her because they have gotten a divorce.  If you are interested in Bella, please contact  Regina at 469-767-7170 or email Regina at [Regina.Donahoe@chase.com](Updated 1/30/10)
Duke
Duke is a dobe mix, born in Feb 2008.  Duke is in the care of Tassie's Hope Animal Rescue (Carrollton, TX) and was originally adopted as a puppy by that group into a very nice home that did their best to work with him, but his energy level, intelligence and exuberance simply overwhelmed them.  Duke is a lovable and affectionate dog who soaks up all the attention he can possibly get from his family. Duke still has the exuberance and energy level of a puppy. He needs a home where there is a yard to run and play in and plenty of opportunity to get good and tired every day. Duke would make an excellent running buddy for someone. He would also enjoy having another equally-active canine friend in his forever home. Duke, quite the social butterfly, also enjoys going to the dog park. This handsome guy never meets a stranger and doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, but 85-lb. Duke doesn't know his own size. Because of this, we think Duke may be a bit too much for very young children, cats and toy-breed dogs.  If you are interested in Duke, please contact the Tassie's Hope group directly - here is their website: www.tassieshope.org  or email  Sarah directly at info@tassieshope.org. (Updated 7/24/09)

Jackson
Jackson is a 5-year-old red male with natural ears.  Jackson is obedience-trained and can do sit-stay-come etc. with traditional hand signals.  His owners are having to place him because they live on the 4th floor of an apartment complex and it is difficult to walk him.  Jackson is currently having a stomach issue (possibly pancreatitis), but his owners are not able to afford the complete testing to diagnose and treat the issue.  Please contact Richard if you can adopt Jackson::972-935-7069 or email at Sollenne@me.com   (Updated 3/1/10)
Oscar
Oscar is a 10-year-old red male Doberman.  Oscar needs an adult household, preferable without other pets (definitely no male dogs). The owners have a 15 month son and an 11 year old daughter. The 11-year-old has been around Oscar since she was 4 and Oscar is fine with her, but Oscar bit the 15 month old which is the reason they are trying to find a new home for him - their alternative is to put him to sleep.   Oscar's head has a slight deformity - when he was adopted the owners were told he had been hit with a shovel.  Oscar is housebroken and up to date on shots.  Oscar has liver disease that has been regulated with a prescription dog food which the owner has offered to continue to supply. The owner has also offered to pay for continuing vet checkups.  Oscar also has some fatty tumors which are not cancerous.  Please contact Brian if you can adopt Oscar::972-989-9899   (Updated 11/29/09)

Sydney
Sydney is a 5-year old black female.  Sydney has only lived with teenagers and adults, so she would probably not be good with small children.  She is good with cats however!  She is slightly unfriendly to dogs - not biting, but growling.   Her family is moving to Australia, so they need to place her before the end of January.  Please contact Cindy if you can adopt Sydney ::936-524-1230 or email: Cindy Miller [cindytx1050@gmail.com]    (Updated 1/13/10)

Wilson
Oscar is a 6 month old  red male Doberman with natural ears.  Wilson is a 'sweet' dog, but is terrorizing the other very small dog in the  household.   Please contact Cheryl if you can adopt Wilson : 214-557-4949 or email Cheryl at  Cheryl Rios [CRios@carsforkids.org] (Updated 11/6/09 )

SENIORS!!!
Brutus
Brutus is an 8-year-old black male with cropped ears.  His owner is placing Brutus because he travels all the time.  Brutus has just been through heartworm treatment, has been neutered, and has had a dental cleaning done, so he is in top form, although a bit thin after all the treatments.  He has had all his shots and is  housebroken and is just a love .  He is big and just wants to be  with someone that will pet and love on him.  He is  a good  wonderfully sweet boy and deserves to have that forever  loving home.  Please contact Judy at PAWS if you can adopt Brutus : 405-373-2331 or email Judy at  dobiepaws@pldi.net (Updated 2/21/10 )
Julian
Julian is a 10-year-old black male with cropped ears.  His owner is placing Julian because Julian has torn up his carpet because of separation anxiety.  Julian's owner will be evicted from his condo if he doesn't place Julian immediately, so his only other option will be to put him to sleep.   Julian's owner has had Julian  since he was a puppy, but has never had him on heartworm preventative.  They live in San Antonio.  Please contact Debra who is working with the San Antonio Doberman Advocay and Rescue Group  if you can adopt Julian : 505-306-3486 or email Debra at  debra@doberman911.org (Updated 2/21/10 )
