Visiting Doberman Rescue

When your application has been approved and you come to Doberman Rescue for Open House, you may need a little help with directions. SH-161 now connects us to the George Bush Toll Road, the LBJ Freeway and the North Dallas Tollway. Getting to Doberman Rescue from Plano is under a half hour. We are located about a mile north of IH-30 and one quarter mile west of SH-161.

Click on the red icon on the map below to bring up a text box that will allow you to click on "Get Directions," which loads a Mapquest dialogue box.

Put the address you will start from in the "From" box. The address filled in the "To" box has been adjusted so the red icon is in the correct place on Rock Creek Drive. Otherwise, it would have been several houses away. Remember, our address is 2021 Rock Creek Drive (not 2077).

The interchange between IH-30 and SH-161 is under construction and differs a little from the map. If you are coming from the south or IH-30, just be sure that you stay on the Northbound Frontage Road and DO NOT ENTER the northbound toll lanes.

Drive up Rock Creek until you are at the crest of the hill, under the high power lines. Then look up the gravel drive to the left and you will see our wrought iron gate with the silhouettes of two Dobermans facing each other on it. The gate code on Sunday is 9514. Don't worry, it is printed on a sticker on the control pad.

Important Information

Come see the dogs, most Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (and ONLY on Sunday), but first, we would really appreciate it if you would fill in an Adoption Application and be approved.

We generally limit our adoptions to people who live within a three hour drive of DFW airport. The exceptions are where we have a member living in the area who can provide a safety net for an adopted dog in need.

If you live outside our adoption area, please apply to a rescue closer to you.

Don't forget, the gate code on Sunday is 9514
